About Fixed Today

We’re Fixed Today, and this is how we work

We’re a licensed and insured Sydney plumbing business. Our plumbers listen to what changed, inspect the affected plumbing and explain the practical options before anything is agreed.

We have served Sydney homeowners since 2011. On the day, our plumber inspects the fault, traces the likely source and explains what the findings indicate. You hear the recommended work and the price, then you choose whether to proceed.

We only hire licensed plumbers. The team completes regular on-site and off-site training, ongoing upskilling as standards and equipment change, and regular police checks and drug screening. That standard applies to whoever works inside your home.

While you wait

Safe steps to take before we arrive

These steps limit the damage and help our plumber prepare. None of them ask you to open equipment or attempt a repair.

In detail

The plumbing work we handle for Sydney homes

Start with what you have noticed rather than what you think the cause is. Each service below sets out the signs, what our plumbers check and how the price is reached.

Emergency and burst pipes

A burst pipe, an overflowing drain or water where it should not be needs attention quickly. Keep clear of flooding and sewage, and call us from somewhere safe if you think gas may be present.

On arrival we assess the immediate risk and, where practical, control it. We then explain whether access, parts and site conditions allow a permanent repair to proceed, and what it costs.

  • Urgent faults assessed on arrival
  • Immediate risk controlled where practical
  • 24/7 emergency phone line
Talk to us about an urgent fault

Blocked drains

One slow fixture is a different problem from several drains backing up at once. Gurgling, slow water and smells around a floor waste are the signs worth telling us about.

We assess the affected drains, the access and the condition of the pipework before proposing a clearing method. Where the findings support it, a CCTV inspection helps show what is happening inside the line.

  • Blocked sinks toilets and floor wastes
  • CCTV inspection where useful
  • Drain clearing after assessment
Book a drain assessment

Toilet repairs

A toilet that runs on, refills by itself, flushes weakly or leaks at the base is worth booking before it wastes water or damages the floor. Tell us which of those you have noticed.

We check the cistern, the pan, the seals, the water supply and the drain it connects to. The findings point to an adjustment, a replacement part, a reseal or drain work, and we give you the price first.

  • Running and leaking toilets
  • Weak flush and refill faults
  • Cistern seals and pan checks
Book a toilet repair

Pipe relining

When a drain keeps backing up, the pipe itself may be cracked, misaligned or holding tree roots. Clearing the line treats the blockage, not the damage underneath it.

An inspection helps us see the condition of the pipe and whether relining is practical. We explain what the work involves, how much of the line it covers and the price, then wait for your approval.

  • Damaged drain lines assessed
  • Relining explained against replacement
  • Fixed price before approval
Ask about pipe relining

Hot water

No hot water, water that runs cold quickly, rusty water or a leak near the unit are all worth a look. Tell us the make and model if you can read it safely.

We check the unit, its valves, the controls and the energy supply. The findings help us explain whether repair or replacement is practical, and you choose after we give you the price.

  • Gas electric and solar systems
  • Repair or replacement explained
  • You choose after we give the price

Gas fitting

Our licensed gas fitters test for and repair gas leaks, connect appliances and carry out gas installations. If you smell gas, leave the area, avoid switches and flames, then call us from somewhere safe.

We explain the proposed work and its price before anything is agreed. After the gas work is completed, we provide any required compliance documents.

  • Licensed gas fitters
  • Leak testing and appliance connections
  • Compliance paperwork where required
Speak to a licensed gas fitter

Leaking taps and fixtures

A dripping tap, a mixer that will not shut off or a fitting that weeps at the connection are common jobs. They are also easy to leave too long.

We inspect the tap, the cartridge or washer and the connections, and check the surrounding area for water damage. We explain the repair and its price, then test the completed repair before we leave.

  • Taps mixers and fittings
  • Surrounding water damage checked
  • Completion testing after repair
Book a tap repair

Leak detection

Damp plaster, bubbling paint, a stain that keeps returning or water use you cannot explain can point to a hidden leak. Avoid painting over a mark before it has been looked at.

Our plumbers use leak detection equipment and meter checks to trace the likely source before opening surfaces. We then explain the appropriate plumbing repair, or the next trade, and the practical access options.

  • Hidden leaks traced before opening
  • Meter and moisture checks
  • Repair options explained with access

Why an assessment changes the outcome

A repair can stop the symptom without anyone tracing where the water came from. We inspect first, explain the likely source, then test the plumbing work we complete.

Before

Moisture source still unclear

  • The visible symptom has no confirmed source
  • A repair is chosen before the cause is checked
  • Access or price changes are left unexplained
  • The same symptom returns without further testing
  • There is no clear handover record
Fixed Today plumber after completing and testing a repair

After

Likely source explained, plumbing repair tested

  • The fault is checked with a suitable diagnostic method
  • The likely cause and repair options are explained
  • The scope and price are approved before paid work
  • The result is tested before handover
  • Relevant invoice, warranty and compliance records are supplied

Why licensing matters

Licensed plumber vs. unlicensed worker

Plumbing work in NSW must be carried out by a licensed plumber. It is not just a formality, licensing protects your home, your insurance, and your right to recourse if something goes wrong.

Licensed plumber

What you get

  • Work is insured and meets the National Plumbing Code
  • Compliance Certificate issued for every job
  • Home insurance and warranty stay valid
  • Statutory warranty backed by NSW Fair Trading
  • Clear path to dispute resolution if needed
Unlicensed worker

What you risk

  • Work may breach the NSW Plumbing and Drainage Act
  • No Compliance Certificate: issues at resale
  • Home insurance claims commonly denied
  • No statutory warranty on the work performed
  • Limited recourse: Fair Trading cannot assist
Our NSW Plumbing Licence 236784C Fixed Today Plumbing Pty Ltd

Most home insurance policies will not pay out for damage caused by unlicensed plumbing work. A burst hot water unit from a non-compliant install can void cover on the entire claim, often tens of thousands of dollars.

Good honest service. The plumber was upfront about what needed fixing versus what could wait. Appreciated that they didn’t try to upsell. Job was completed quickly and cleanly. Only reason for 4 stars is the initial wait time was a bit longer than quoted.

How to check any plumber before you approve work

These are the checks worth making on any plumbing business, including ours. They cover licensing, insurance, pricing and what you should receive when the job is finished.

Homeowner checks

Seven checks worth making

  • Ask for the contractor licence number
  • Check the insurance is current
  • Ask when you will be given a price
  • Ask what happens if the plan changes
  • Ask about a call-out or attendance charge
  • Read the comments, not just the star rating
  • Ask what you receive at handover
Quote checklist

Signs worth pausing on

  • No contractor licence number on the quote or invoice
  • A firm price offered before anyone has assessed the fault
  • Pressure to decide on the spot
  • No written record of what the price covers
  • Cash only with no tax invoice offered
  • No answer about what happens if the work changes
Trust check

Check a plumber’s licence yourself. Service NSW publishes a free licence check. You can use it on any plumbing business, including ours, before you book.
