- A stable base: Storage systems need a level surface capable of supporting their filled weight. Roof-mounted or elevated equipment may also need structural assessment and safe service access.
- Safe drainage: Relief-valve and other required discharge must be directed to an approved location where hot water cannot injure people or damage the property.
- Suitable services: A licensed installer must assess the available water, gas and electrical connection routes.
- Appropriate surroundings: Consider weather exposure, noise, doors, windows, walkways and neighbouring properties, particularly for gas exhaust terminals and heat-pump fans.
